Tic, Tac, Toe - alteration

Today we had a quick go at modifying the game of tic, tac, toe. We were split into groups of three and came up with a few ideas. This is an easy game to alter because of its simplicity, and to increase the number of players was made very interesting.

The idea that we came up with in our group was to have a 3D cube (3 by 3 by 3) with three players able to play. To make more simple and so that all the grids would be visible, we split it into a top, middle, and bottom grid.

The way to win was to have three in a row. However, they have to be in a straight line. So if there were two crosses in the top layer, and one on the middle in the same row/column, then it wouldn't count.

We had a few test games of it, and it really makes to player think about what to do, and get be a little confusing at time. Although this didn't distract from how competitive it feels.

We also added an extra player, so the third person had to use a triangle symbol to distinguish them. It's a lot more interesting with three players, because you have an extra opponent to worry about. It also means that if you have a chance to win, there's a higher chance one of them will notice and block it.
