Algebra is a way of measuring groups loosely. For example, 3f is three lots of the group 'f'. f is a group that has no specified number of components in it. It could be a group of anything, like a crate of apples, or a shed of cars.
It can be used to calculate hypothetical equations because of the unspecified number. This can be used to calculate the size of a building, and can be used as a scale later on if proportions change.
Algebra can be used in code as a substitute for a number. For example, if a code needs a number input, an algebraic equation can be written ready for it.
It is very useful, but I sometimes struggle with solving equations. However, the questions we got today were easy enough to solve.
